Acupuncture:  invovles the insertion of fine needles into the Qi pathways. A slight pinprick is sometimes felt but is usually painless. Needles are usually left in place for 15 minutes while the patient lies down. Many people experience a deep sense of relaxation or feel energized by acupuncture treatment.  All needles are sterile and disposed of after single use.

Acupressure: is manual pressure on acupuncture points, it has similiar effects to acupuncture. Its is particularly good for relieving tension and alleviating pain by promoting the smooth flow of Qi and blood. It can be incoprated into treatments when appropriate or used alone.

Chinese Herbs: Herbs are drunk as a tea or taken in pill form. Endangered plants are never used, we never use animal products. Herbs are sourced from reputable companies and are inspected to meet high standards of purity and quality.

Chinese Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a tried and tested system of medicine based  on the understanding of the body's energies.  It  is a system of healing, which has been the primary method of treatment in China and the East, for thousands of years.  It has undergone continual development and refinement over this time. Energy known as Qi (prounced Chee) flows smoothly throughout the body providing nourishment and defence against disease. Illness or pain occurs when the Qi becomes disrupted by infection; injury;poor diet; emotional factors; or weather conditions. Chinese Medicine rebalances the Qi and activates the body's own natural healing mechanisms. Its primary goal is to promote balance and harmony within a perosn's mind, body and spirit. TCM strives to understand the person by weaving together all aspects of the patients health and find patterns of disharmony. These patterns are the roots of stress and the symptoms are the manifestation branches. TCM teats both the root and the branch therefore promoted healing at a deep level and does not simply suppress symptoms.

Because of its holistic approach, Traditional Chinese Medicine can provide safe, side effect free treatment. It is suitable for everyone from babies to the elderly. Some examples of conditions commonly treated include:

Back pain; sciatica;arthritis;sports injuries;headaches; tiredness;PMS; gynaecology;menopausal symptoms;infertility;digestive problems;constipation;stress;anxiety;depression;insomnia; hay fever; asthma and many other ailments.
